American Idol star and successful singer, Kelly Clarkson, has recently called it quits with her husband, Brandon Blackstock. Kelly will retain primary custody of their two children, ages 5 and 4 respectively, in Los Angeles, but her ex-husband will receive parental privileges. The singer is known for her openness about her private life, but this is the one time that she will not divulge more than she wants to. The couple has hit a rough patch during the process but remained civil to one another in front of their children.

They first met back in 2006 while Clarkson was rehearsing for the American Country Music Awards though she did not act on her feelings at the time because Blackstock was still married. They eventually got together and tied the knot in a private ceremony. Clarkson has turned to her music to cope with the current situation, and it seems that her newest album is the most personal.
