Matthew McConaughey | Ego – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

Besides preparing the film’s script, another investment producer would often make in a project is concept art. That way, they have a visual reference of the world their story is set in, their characters, and other things such as costumes and items.Well, the same can be said for the James Gunn-directed Marvel flick, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Alongside the film’s titular team, portrayed by James Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, the story introduces Ego, played by Kurt Russell.

Although he provided an outstanding performance as Pratt’s on-screen father, Gunn and the team initially had a different actor in mind to bring the character to life. Through a concept art posted by one of the film’s artists, fans discover that Matthew McConaughey was their first choice. Sadly, he declined due to conflicts in schedule with his work on the movie based on the Stephen King novel, The Dark Tower.
