Kevin Hart | Alpa Chino – Tropic Thunder

Like the previously-mentioned Hangover film, another comedy feature that garnered a high degree of praise from audiences and critics alike is 2008’s Tropic Thunder. Directed, co-written, and starring Ben Stiller, the movie follows a group of actors working on an action flick. After a while, however, they realize the explosions happening around them aren’t staged.

Starring alongside Ben include Jack Black, Jay Baruchel, Tom Cruise, and Robert Downey Jr. Before production began, Kevin Hart was initially offered a part in the film – the energy drink-advertising movie star Alpa Chino. It was great of an opportunity to work with this star-studded cast, though Hart turned down the part. He thought it was a character he couldn’t give his 100% to, so he believed it best to let someone else do it. In the end, Brandon T. Jackson landed the role of Alpa Chino.
