Rachel McAdams | Andy Sachs – The Devil Wears Prada
It’s no secret that writers, directors, and producers can already think of potential stars for their upcoming projects, even when they’re still creating the script. Despite their actor of choice being a supposed fit for the role, though, there’s still a possibility they’ll turn it down.Such was the case for 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada, a film adaptation of the novel of the same name.
Besides the expensive costumes the characters wore throughout the movie, a significant portion of the investment money surely went to its cast, including Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. For the character of Andy Sachs, Streep’s on-screen assistant, producers initially wanted Rachel McAdams for the role. As great of an opportunity it could’ve been, Rachel declined their many offers, which ultimately concluded with at-the-time Disney star Anne Hathaway landing the part.
