At this point, Mark Wahlberg is known for many things. During the earlier years of his career, he was a rapper who went by the name Marky Mark. After his stint with the rap group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, he shifted his focus to acting.He may have starred in a variety of films already, including Ted, The Italian Job, and two Transformers movies, but Wahlberg has also had times where he thought it was better if he stepped away from the gas.

One such moment was when filmmaker Ang Lee showed him the script for his at-the-time upcoming film Brokeback Mountain. It turned out, after reading a few pages, the Daddy’s Home actor believed he wasn’t fit for the part. Whether it was for Ennis Del Mar or Jack Twist, the lead roles were ultimately given to Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger.
