Leonardo DiCaprio | Alan Turing – The Imitation Game
There are many historical events undoubtedly worth sharing. With that said, one such notable medium to tell them would be through movies. To this day, Alan Turing takes credit for being the father of artificial intelligence and theoretical science. Plus, he also lived quite a life filled with achievements and hurdles, a life surely worth telling to millions. This eventually led to the creation of the 1983 biography Alan Turing: The Enigma, which was then adapted to the 2014 film The Imitation Game.
Although Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio were initially involved, the project was ultimately produced independently, with Benedict Cumberbatch portraying Turing instead of DiCaprio. Along with garnering widespread acclaim and recognition, this $14 million film also earned plenty of award nominations. It won a People’s Choice Award from the Toronto International Film Festival and an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
