Carmelo Anthony’s NBA career has garnered a lot of attention, but he’s also done a lot of good work for those who are not as well-known. He leverages his celebrity to draw attention to a lesser-known aspect of his ancestry. Carmelo was born in New York City to an African-American mom and Puerto Rican father.Carmelo is unquestionably one of the most prolific basketball players of all time, standing 6 ft 8 inches tall with solid arms and a bird’s eye vision.

After excelling in basketball at Towson Catholic High School and Oak Hill Academy, he went on to Syracuse University, where his abilities helped the school win its first-ever national championship. His energetic performance catapulted him into a degree of prominence almost immediately. He started his professional debut in 2003 when he played for the Denver Nuggets. Over the years, Carmelo broke all records game after game on his way to becoming one of the best NBA.
