Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan is a folk icon who can do more than just sing for social justice; the 80-year-old recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom can also mold iron into stunning works of art. Dylan has gotten so skilled at his trade over the years that he has had his art displayed in a number of New York galleries. He has been a prominent influence in popular culture for about 60 years, and due to this, is widely recognized as one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

Following the release of his self-titled first album in 1962, which featured mostly traditional folk songs, Dylan made his breakthrough as a songwriter the following year with The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. Blowin’ in the Wind and the lyrically complex A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall are among the album’s highlights. Many also credit his success due to him modifying the melodies and phraseology of earlier folk songs for use in several of these songs.
